Theatre in Education
Performance and Workshops Each year the Caravanserai produce a number of plays that feature on the GCSE and A-level syllabi. We bring professional productions of these texts to schools to enhance students' understanding of the play and to give them the opportunity to watch professional theatre that might not be otherwise available. The workshops are tailored specifically to challenge the students actively and dynamically. They are enabled to explore acting and to develop their own creative resources. The workshops help the students address the questions raised in the syllabus. We share our working methodology with the students and demonstrate how a professional theatre company approaches the mounting of a production. Further Workshops We also offer bespoke workshops based around scene study, character work, ensemble work and directing. The aim of these workshops is to give the students new perspectives on how to develop a play, work on a role and understand the ensemble ethic of theatre. |
